Oh My Loubis!!! CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

He is the only man that always know how to make a woman happy. Mesdames et monsieurs welcome to Christian Loubutin the man who has never let his company be bought by anybody and for any price. Louboutin is a rare example in luxury business, the company is managed and owned by the same person and has less than 10 flagship stores around the world. If you think to the other luxury brands it seems like a family company..and that'a exactly what it is. After have seen Loubis wore by the most beautiful and rich women in the world the company in 2008 still had just 35 employees. Now the things are slowly changing but not that much.. we can buy Louboutins in the chicest malls of the world (Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Excelsior, Harrods..) but have you ever seen any adv? Any official testimonial? Never. Most of the women in the world has started to know what this red sole meant thanks to the first Sex And The City movie when Sarah Jessica Parker has decided to abandon the old Manolos to make room for Christian Louboutin. The art and the work that lays behind his shoes is born when Christian was a young boy. A friend of him brought him a book dealing with Roger Vivier, who was designing shoes for Christian Dior at that time and who is considered the inventor of the stiletto (or spike heel as you prefer..), Christian got immediately inspired and knew he found his way! He was only 16 years old when he became the official shoe designer for the famous Folies Bergères cabaret. Since these shoes where for all the pretty dancers he learnt how to make shoes sexy and resistant. After some years, when he was 20, he started to design for Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Dior having a huge success. Then something inside him changed. He did't want to work all his life for other brands. Thanks to his savings and to two investors he collected 200.000 dollars and opened his first shop in Paris. It was 1991. This was the beginning of something great. At first he produced the shoes in Nice but when a lot of buyers started to ask his shoes to be sold in multibrands shops he moved the production in Italy, not far from Milan, where his company is still producing shoes for all the world. You know how long it took to reach the break even? Just 3 collections. In three years Christian Louboutin had wiped out all debts and was getting ready to reach the top of the world. If we think about the condition of most of young designers today it looks like a fairy tale but don't forget that if you are talented, brave and hard worker dreams can come true.

WALKING AROUND - ISABEL MARANT

I confess. At first sight I did't like Isabel Marant sneakers, they seemed too big and I'm not so tall (167cm) but then I walked in one of my favorite shop in Milan  (Antonia, Via Ponte Vetero 1) and tried them. I fell in love!! They are comfortable and make you feel much confident thanks to the 6 cm wedge inside! Today I took a walk around Milan, had lunch and did some shopping. Look what I found in Rinascente shopping mall! There is a huge patisserie (il Bar - Choco Lab) window full of sculptures done in chocolate! I found those pretty shoes and obviously bought one for me, it's the first time that I buy a shoe and never wear it! =) It's a funny alternative to the classic Easter Egg!
Have a great week end everybody!

Me ne sono innamorata!

COLOR GAMES - NOSTALGIA

I came home three hours ago and I started to move things around my house..do you ever wake up and feel that you must change something? Most of the times is something inside us and for me a good point to start is change how things are around me and then write or paint to express myself..it relaxes me a lot. So I took my fashion books to find an inspiration and then I've started to draw freehand. It's incredible how time flies when I write or draw, it seems like the world doesn't exist any longer, it's just me and a piece of paper and this piece of paper frequently becomes a mirror of my feelings. I perfectly know that the choice of the colors I wear or I use when I paint is unconsciously the expression of my mood! As Miuccia Prada said: "Nostalgia is a very important issue today; it seems that you can't see beauty without it".

DKNY - FASHION, ART AND SUN!

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE PAINTINGS BY MY TURKISH FRIEND AND ARTIST BEDRI BAYKAM
My sunny day has finally come! A couple of month ago I've bought a silk gilet by DKNY on Net-à-Porter and today I've created a look based on it. I love the design of this printed silk gilet, it's like a huge romantic tattoo that you can let flutter around each step you take! It's incredible how black and white always match and give a classy allure to each outfit you create! Don't forget that these two colors matched in the right way are perfect for every kind of woman and for every kind of occasion, from your morning appointments to the most glamourous nights!

As you can see in the pics there are two of may favorite paintings done by two friends and most of all artists: Bedri Baykam and Ludmilla Radchenko. I love them because with they art they know always how to homage all art muses!

Today I've an important appointment to plan a special fashion project, but I still can't reveal anything..finger crossed for me please!
