In these last two days the rain has been frequently with us limiting my movements and programmes. Yesterday morning I still managed to make a beautiful tour among the shop houses an the markets in Chinatown. The photos speak for themselves. I was very curious to see the local pharmacies since Chinese medicine is the oldest in the world I decided to buy a range of products suitable for me. We'll see if it works! In the streets of Chinatown, there are also many tailors, I did a test: my boyfriend has left a shirt and asked the guy to copy it so that we can test the quality of the work and maybe ask them to do something else more complicated...tonight we'll see the result! I bought a beautiful set of chopsticks in ebony choosing among thousands, each with a different representation. Obviously the most widespread is the image of the fish with the lion's head — the symbol of Singapore. For lunch I walked up to Boat Quay and I arrived just in time to the restaurant before the tropical storm started! The lunch was great, I admit that now we are getting used to this high quality, we have chosen to stop at the Indochine. Indochine is located on the terrace of Asian Civilization Museum and offers far east fusion cuisine in an environment almost mystical: the Interior is full of statues of Buddha and plants and on the terrace you can have lunch watching the boats passing over the river. Another restaurant where I had the pleasure of have a wonderful dinner with Teppanyaki cuisine (teppan (鉄板-iron plate, Grill) and yaki (焼き-jumped) with a chef at our disposal for cooking fish to carme on boiling plate is the Mikuni (inside Fairmont Hotel). It's fun (and very tasty!)

Talking about shopping I went by chance to the Far East Plaza, a mall in the area of Orchard Road-14 Scotts Road-but unlike nearby luxurious mall contains only local shops here you can find a lot of small boutiques with original and cheap creations, some of them copied from haute couture dresses and other done by emerging designers you can also find shoes, bijoux, tattoo artists, hair stylists and Nail Salons where you can have the most extravagant manicure. It's a funny experience and it's something different..luxury shopping centers now are the same all over the world, once inside one of these you could be in New York, Milan, London or Beijing that would be the same thing!

Tomorrow I leave for Malaysia, meanwhile I wish you a wonderful Christmas!!

In questi ultimi due giorni le pioggia ci ha tenuto compagnia limitando parte dei miei spostamenti e programmi. Ieri mattina sono comunque riuscita a fare uno splendido giro tra le shop house e i mercatini di Chinatown. Le foto parlano da sole. Ero molto curiosa di vedere le farmacie del luogo, la medicina cinese è la più antica del mondo quindi ho deciso di comprare una serie di prodotti adatti a me..vedremo se funzionano! Per le strade di Chinatown ci sono anche molte sartorie, ho fatto una prova: il mio fidanzato ha lasciato una camicia da far copiare per testare la qualità e la tanto decantata bravura...stasera vedremo il risultato! Ho comprato un bellissimo set di bacchette in ebano scegliendolo tra migliaia, ognuna con una raffigurazione diversa.. anche se ovviamente la più diffusa è l'immagine dei pesce con la testa di leone ovvero il simbolo di Singapore. Per pranzo ho camminato fino a Boat Quay e sono arrivata giusto in tempo al ristorante prima che la tempesta tropicale avesse inizio! Il pranzo è stato ottimo, ormai ci stiamo abituando troppo bene, abbiamo scelto l'Indochine. Indochine si trova sulla terrazza del Asian Civilization Museum e propone cucina fusion del far east in un ambiente quasi mistico: l'interno è pieno di statue di Buddah e piante e sulla terrazza all'aperto si può pranzare guardando le barche che passando sul fiume. Vi segnalo un altro ristorante dove ho avuto il piacere di assaggiare la cucina Teppanyaki (teppan (鉄板 - piatto di ferro, griglia) e yaki (焼き - saltato) con uno chef a nostra disposizione per cucinare pesce a carme sulla piastra bollente. E' un'esperienza divertente (e molto gustosa!)

Per quanto riguarda lo shopping sono entrata per caso al Far East Plaza, un centro commerciale nella zona di Orchard Road - 14 Scotts Road - che però a differenza dei vicini lussuosissimi mall contiene solo negozi del luogo. Ci sono piccole boutique con creazioni originali e a poco prezzo, alcune copiate pari pari dagli abiti di alta moda e altre di designer emergenti, in oltre si possono trovare scarpe, bigiotteria, tatuatori, parrucchieri e Nail Salon dove vengono fatte le manicure più stravaganti. E' un'esperienza divertentesoprattutto perché i centri commerciali del lusso ormai sono equivalenti in tutto il mondo, una volta dentro ad uno di questi potremmo essere a New York, Milano, Londra o Pechino che sarebbe la stessa cosa!
