PURE SHORES

When I first saw the famous movie The Beach I’ve start dreaming about Thailand and now finally here I am!  If you are planning a trip here I want to give you some advices. First of all it’s important to know that since now we are in winter the weather is better in the western part of Thailand (Phuket, Phi Phi Island, Krabi..) while during summer the sun seekers must go to the other side (Ko Samui, Ko Phangan..), the other thing I want to tell you is that Malaysia and Thailand are deeply different, the first one is more quiet and so becomes perfect for sun and peace lovers while Thailand is pretty much louder! 

At the moment I’m in Krabi, I’ve decided to come here the same day I’ve checked out from The Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok and I’ve found a great weather waiting for me!  I chose a very cute hotel just outside Krabi called Nakamanda. Nakamanda is part of the Small Luxury Hotels and is made only of villas and cottages with or without swimming pool. The prices are excellent if you think that we are in the high season and for a cottage I spend a little more than 250 euros per night! The problem is that the beach is almost non-existent and except the accommodations everything else leaves something to be desired.

Krabi, to tell you the truth, is nothing special compared to the other island that are here around but is in a good position to plan daily trips. Yesterday I’ve been to the Hot Springs and to the Emerald Pools in the Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve.. heaven has blessed this place with cristal water and luxurious green jungle! And today I’ve taken private boat to go to Phi Phi Island.. well, the exeprience has been so great that.. guess what.. I’ve decided to move there from tomorrow morning! If you have seen the Beach you’ll remember the beautiful places where it has been shooted, to be precise The Beach is a place on earth and is called Maya Beach..of course now is full of turists but the place is so damn beautiful that you will not care about the people around you! 

I know that I’m not talking about fashion now, but for me this is more, for me this is fashion. Fashionistas are people who can walk on a red Louboutin sole but prefer to walk barefoot in the sand! Guys, you know what will always be in fashion? Memories like these.

Quando ho visto per la prima volta  il famoso film The Beach ho iniziato a sognare la Thailandia e ora finalmente eccomi qui! Se state programmando un viaggio qui voglio darvi alcuni consigli..Prima di tutto è importante sapere che dato che ora siamo in inverno il clima è meglio nella parte occidentale della Thailandia (Phuket, Phi Phi Island, Krabi..) mentre durante l'estate i sun seekers come me devono andare a est (Ko Samui, Ko Phangan..), l'altra cosa che voglio dirvi è che la Malesia e la Thailandia sono profondamente diverse, mentre la prima è più tranquilla e quindi perfetta per gli amanti del sole e della pace, la Thailandia è decisamente più complicata e direi incasinata!

Al momento sono in Krabi, ovviamente ho deciso di venire all'ultimo, ovvero mentre facevo il check out al Mandarin Oriental di Bangkok. Fortunatamente ho trovato un sole splendido ad aspettarmi! Ho scelto una struttura molto carina appena fuori Krabi che si chiama Nakamanda. Nakamanda fa parte della catena Small Luxury Hotel ed è composto solo da ville e villette con o senza piscina. I prezzi sono ottimi se pensate che siamo in alta stagione e per una villetta spendo poco più di 250 euro a notte! La pecca c'è, la spiaggia è pressoché inesistente e a parte le ville tutto il resto lascia un po' a desiderare. 

Tutta Krabi, a dire la verità, non è niente di speciale rispetto alle altre isole che sono qui intorno, ma è in una buona posizione per pianificare escursioni giornaliere. Ieri sono andata alle Emerald Pools (piscine di smeraldo) nella riserva naturale Khao Phra Bang Khram... il paradiso ha benedetto questo luogo con acqua cristallina e un'imperiosa giungla lussureggiante! Invece oggi ho preso una barca privata per andare a Phi Phi Island... Beh, l'esperienza è stata così splendida che...Indovinate... Ho deciso di spostarmi lì da domani mattina! Se avete visto The Beach vi ricorderete senza dubbio le location pazzesche dove è stato girato, per essere precisi The Beach esiste davvero si chiama Maya Beach...Naturalmente ora è pieno di turisti, ma il posto è così dannatamente bello che una volta li non vi interesserà altro che ciò che riempirà i vostri sguardi!

So che non sto parlando di moda adesso, ma per me questo è più, per me questo è moda. Le persone alla moda, i fashionista, i trendsetter, sono anche quelle persone che possono camminare su una suola rossa di Louboutin, ma sanno scegliere con libertà di cuore di camminare a piedi nudi nella sabbia! Ragazzi, sapete cosa sarà sempre di moda? Ricordi come questi.
