A friend of mine has asked me to tell about my fabulous trip to California and Nevada done in Summer 2011 because she wants some tips to plan her holiday.

I have been around California for 18 days but my ideas where not that clear when I arrived in Los Angeles because I've decided to leave just a few days before so I just had the time to buy some guides a read a little. For my stay in Los Angeles I've chosen the new Mr.C Beverly Hills Hotel owned by Ignazio and maggio Cipriani and recently opened. The hotel was beautifully furnished, Italian style, with a little pool outside. Obviously the restaurant serves some traditional Cipriani dishes (like the carpaccio and the tagliolini) and the famous drink Bellini is always a classic like in New York. Regarding the rooms I loved the style, the SPA was ok and the gym is well equipped. I think that the lounge could have been done better but for the rest I recommend this hotel. In L.A. I've been to Universal Studios, and I can tell you that is a great fun for adults and children. Have lunch at The Ivy (The Ivy 113 N Roberston Blvd) and dinner at Mastro's (246 North canon Drive Beverly Hills) with a high steak and a glass of red wine.Then I left L.A. to go to Las Vegas for two days, the city is amazing as everybody knows, the Hotels are giant and I've chosen the Wynn because among all is more classy and the rooms are great. Don't forget to buy a ticket for one of the most breathtaking show I've ever seen: Le rêve that takes places in an intimate aqua theater-in-the-round with trial acrobatics, athletes choreographed to create a world of fantasy and magic.

More than two days in Vegas are absolutely useless, you can lose a lot of time..and money, you know the casino at the end is the only one who always wins. Be aware that if you go in August the temperature is like hell! Out of the big Hotels there is one steak house where you have to go: Smith & Wollensky (3767 South Las Vegas Boulevard). After Las Vegas I drove for miles to reach the beautiful Grand Canyon National Park, be careful when you book a lodge here, Bright Angel is one of the best. The lodges are simple hotels where the contact with it is so close that you can walk with squirrels and see fawns everywhere you go. Also out of your window sleeping (as happened to me).

Una mia amica mi ha chiesto di raccontare del favoloso viaggio in California, Arizona e Nevada che fatto nell'estate 2011 in modo da poterle dare qualche consiglio per pianificare il viaggio. Quindi eccomi qui, condividerò con tutti voi i dettagli del mio viaggio!

Sono stata in giro per la parte occidentale degli Stati Uniti per circa 18 giorni, quando sono partita avevo tutto tranne che le idee chiare dato che ho acquistato i biglietti per L.A. solo 3 giorni prima di partire, ho giusto prenotato il primo albergo e dopo di che con le guide alla mano ho deciso il mio percorso di volta in volta. Per il mio soggiorno a Los Angeles ho scelto il nuovo Mr.C Beverly Hills Hotel di Ignazio e Maggio Cipriani che ha aperto di recente. L'hotel è stato splendidamente arredato in stile italiano, con una piccola piscina all'esterno (ma proprio piccola). Ovviamente il ristorante serve alcuni piatti tradizionali di Cipriani (come il carpaccio e i tagliolini) e il famoso drink Bellini è un classico qui come a New York. Per quanto riguarda le camere ho amato lo stile, la SPA era ok e la palestra è ben attrezzata. Sulla parte esterna della lounge avrebbero potuto impegnarsi un po' di più ma nel complesso l'hotel mi è davvero piaciuto. Andate agli Studios, sono eccezionali. Pranzate da The Ivy (113 N Roberston Blvd) e cenate da Mastro's (246Canon Drive Beverly Hills) con una bistecca al sangue e un bicchiere di buon vino rosso.

Ho Lasciato Los Angeles alla volta di Las Vegas, la città è sorprendente e accecante, e gli alberghi sono giganteschi. Io ho scelto il Wynn, perché tra tutti è il più elegante. Non dimenticatevi di comprare un biglietto per lo spettacolo Le Rêve dove una squadra di ballerini e atleti attraverso coreografie mozzafiato che partono dal soffitto e terminano su un palcoscenico che all'occasione si trasforma in una piscina vi faranno passare un'ora immersi in un incamtesimo.Più di due giorni a Las Vegas sono assolutamente inutili, di più sarebbe una perdita di tempo..e di soldi, il casinò alla fine è l'unico che vince sempre. Tenete inoltre presente che in agosto si muore di caldo se avete deciso di partire per l'estate! Vi voglio inoltre segnalare una steakhouse dove servono piatti deliziosi: Smith & Wollensky (3767 South Las Vegas Boulevard). Partita da Las Vegas ho raggiunto il Grand Canyon National Park. Prestate attenzione quando prenotate un lodge qui, Bright Angel è uno dei migliori. I lodge sono semplicissimi alberghi immersi nella natura dove il contatto con essa è così stretto che si può camminare con gli scoiattoli e vedere cerbiatti, ovunque che tu vada. Anche fuori della finestra mentre sonnecchiano (come è successo a me).
