WHEN PRISCILLA MEETS DIANA - A LOMO STORY!

One week ago when I was in Singapore I bumped into a shop in chinatown. It was so colored that it was impossible not to notice it. So I decided to get in and suddenly I was captured by LOMOGRAPHY. Since I didn’t really know what that means I’ve decided to wait a while before publishing this post to have time to study!
Well, what I found out is that there is a world around a small plastic camera! Not only a world..

Ok, let’s go back to the origins. It was 1992 when two guys from Austria werw wondering around Prague and found a Lomo in a small market (somebody says on the floor, who knows..) a Leningradkoje Optiko Mechanitscheskoje Objedinenie...it sounds complicate I know that’s why everybody calls this camera LOMO! This two guys went back home and after finding out what was the potential of this small object founded a community for all the Lomo lovers. This camera as you can imagine has been created in Russia a long time ago, we talk about regime time, and was done with cheap materials..thanks to her cheap lens the pictures became so fascinating that another dimension of photography has been created. Obviously we’re not talking about a digital camera, we talk about the real thrill that you get while you’re waiting for the pictures to be printed from the camera film. Guys, it’s one of the emotions that we’ve lost and that is great to have back!!
What I did? Of course I bought one of this cameras, I chose the Diana F + Gold Edition because is one of the easiest to be used and I’m not a professional (and because is done in shining gold plastic!!!) and I did my first shots, now I’m waiting to have them printed! Check the Lomography website out so that you will have a better idea of the potential of this shop! You’ll be surprised by the variety of cameras that they produce and sell all over the world, there are different kinds of cameras done for professionals and simple fans like me! If you leave in a city where there’s a shop (check here) you can also join free courses organized by the shop, if you can’t go there just stay tuned on the website and read their monthly magazine to be informed and improve your LOMO art!
As soon as my pictures will be ready I will scan them and do a new post!
As the LOMO lovers say let’s get charmed by the unique, colorful, and sometimes blurry images that this cameras produces!

P.S. I just found out that in Excelsior (Milan) Lomography is present!!!

Come i Lomo lovers direbbero "let’s get chamrmed by the unique, colorful, and sometimes blurry images that this cameras produces!"

P.S. Se vivete a Milano potete trovare un corner Lomography all'Excelsior!
